Capsulent develops custom microencapsulation in our Santa Cruz lab and makes lab-scale samples, typically up to about 500 mL, for evaluation. Pilot-scale and production batches are made by our manufacturing partner, Earth Supplied Products (ESP), and our scientists support the move from the bench to pilot and full production.
It starts with a discovery call about your active, product format and goals. We assess feasibility, develop and test encapsulates in our lab, send you samples to evaluate, and refine them based on your feedback. When you're ready to scale, pilot and production batches move to ESP.
We encapsulate oils and oil-soluble actives in an aqueous carrier, and water-soluble actives in a non-aqueous carrier. Past work includes retinol, essential oils such as peppermint, plant oils for hair repair, probiotics, UV filters and insect repellents. If you have an active in mind, ask us about feasibility.
